SOLARIS CONCEPTS AND GLOSSARY

Cells

The Solaris concept of a cell is that of a fundamental unit of organization. Cells are called "Local" when they are made up of members who conduct field operations: these are the core of the network. They are called "Coordination" cells when their purpose is to create the network connections. Local cells are deemed "Active" when they have had face to face meetings between members. See the web page dedicated to cells.

Coordinators

Whether as part of a local or coordination cell, the coordinator is tasked with creating the
connections between all the various cells that make up the Solaris network. See the web page
dedicated to Coordinators.

Nomenclature

Since the mesh of the Solaris Network is all important, being consistent in naming email addresses, Telegram Channels and Groups as well as websites will greatly simplify navigation in various information platforms. This will enhance communication from the local to the international level. Solaris Ontario proposes to be consistent with Quebec in that:

  • Local cells will have an email that starts with "cell" and coordination cells will start with "solaris", then region and then the province, followed by Location (by name or part of postal code).
  • On Telegram, group names for local cells will have small letters, and channel names for Coordination cells will have capital letters.

Example: Coordination cell for Sudbury and surrounding areas

email: solaris.sudbury.on@protonmail.com
Telegram Channel name: Solaris SUDBURY ONTARIO
(Note: the name is not the same as the invite link for a channel.)

Example: Local cell in Sudbury

email: cell.sudbury.on.P3B@protonmail.com

Example: solaris-france.org, solaris-quebec.org, solaris-suisse-romande.org, solaris-ontario.org all have the same form.

Referent

Referents are the search engines of the Internet of Humans. They are the custodians of the local directory which
forms an inventory of resources made available by the members of the local cell. See also Referents and Local Directories
for a full description of their role.

Weaver

The weavers work on local cell networking, regional networking, inter-regional networking and also with
various non-Solaris networks.
